From September 28 to November 9, 2024, 12 nikkei farmers from Latin American countries were invited to Japan for the Agricultural Technology Training Program to expand their knowledge on the latest agricultural techniques, methods for improving agricultural productivity, soil improvement techniques, and sustainable agricultural production. The courses were set up on two themes, “improving productivity” and “circular agriculture” (with six people participating in each course), focusing on the use of microorganisms and biostimulants in agriculture. The visits included the Tokyo University of Agriculture’s Subtropical Farm, EM Research Institute, Kanagawa Prefecture Agricultural Technology Center, Kinchan Farm, Fukuoka Bioindustry Development Institute (microbial materials), Japan Food Ecology Center (food waste recycling), and J-AGRI – Japan’s largest agricultural exhibition.
