Greetings from the president

TopAbout UsGreetings from the president
Makoto Tanaka, President and Representative Director

Our company will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026 (Reiwa 8). The founding spirit of our company, "Chuo Kaihatsu" (Central Development), is embodied in our company name. This spirit, along with our company motto and principles, is our unwavering foundation. It is our mission and determination to "feel the direction of the nation and the needs of its people, to take the lead and pioneer in times of national crisis, and to advance the 'development' and application of technology, to hone our skills, and to create systems, aiming to be the 'center' of all these things." Since our founding, we have progressed as a pioneer in the field of ground investigation and soil testing targeting soft ground, and while responding to the demands of the times, we have expanded our business domain to fields such as rock investigation, civil engineering design, geotechnical environment, and social design. As a "comprehensive construction consultant," we have contributed to the safety and security of the nation and the development of society and the economy.

The society around us is currently undergoing a major transformation. Social challenges are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated, including more severe natural disasters, rapidly aging infrastructure, a declining working-age population, diversification of industrial structures, changes in education and human resource development, and a worsening shortage of skilled workers. Consequently, the role and responsibilities of construction consultants are also changing dramatically.

In an era where it is not easy to "foresee" the future, we will continue to "challenge" ourselves without fear of change. Just as our founder established Chuo Kaihatsu during the chaotic post-war period, we too will create technologies and services that meet societal needs and are required for future society, nurture engineers who will lead the next generation, and take on the challenge of "creating new value." I am convinced that when each engineer has pride and confidence, and when the value of their technical skills is properly evaluated, it will lead to the development of the company, the development of the industry, and the creation of a sustainable country.

We would like to ask for your continued guidance and support, and all of us officers and employees are committed to working even harder to meet your expectations.

Makoto Tanaka, President and Representative Director
